Author Topic: Are you a Vegetarian?  (Read 2537 times)

No, but I order off vegetarian menus quite a lot.

Being a vegetarian can be very bad for you as you can't get all your required nutrients just from plants.
Remember kids, there's a reason we are omnivores.
As a matter of fact you can. I happen to know a couple of vegetarians and they're among the healthiest people I know. This is probably because they've all carefully planned their diets so that they get all the nutrients they need. The big thing is fruit dependent diets tend to be low on protein and you have to eat a bunch of food fortified with B12.

But I would argue that the health benefit is primarily because they planned their diet, not necessarily from being a vegetarian. My view has been that being a vegetarian means you've eliminated meat from your diet through careful planning and monitoring of your nutrition. Someone who just woke up one day and decided they were going to only eat vegetables for the rest of their life is just handicapped and probably going to die early. They might technically be a vegetarian but they totally missed the whole point of it.

Vegans are handicapped, and their reasoning is equally handicapped.

Honestly I eat meat because it tastes good.

I am vegetarian because I am necrophobic. Can't deal with eating something that was dead. :c

When plants get harvested they die.......

Well at least we can all agree bread is pretty tasty.

I eat SOME meats, I don't eat Pork/Beef. My sister is a full on vegetarian because one day she randomly decided she wanted to be one because she "randomly" felt bad for eating things with a face.

I thought necrophobic meant you rape dead bodies.

Ontopic: I don't usually eat meat because we can't afford it, i usually snack on chips and spaghetti and gatorade and other stuff like that.

Pfft, I eat a lot of vegetarian food and not much meat.

That's because vegetarian food is easy to cook. :)

I guess I'm a vegetarian.
But not because I'm a hippie, I have a fear that if I eat meat I'll choke on it. :c

mcdonalds is yummy
I love sarcasm
But I do like meat and eat it so I would not be a vegetarian.
