Yeah, there needs to be a function that calculates the distance from the player to the hookshot point, and then slows the speed depending on the distance.  (For servers with fall damage)

Ok, this version does that. Always. So when you get close to your destination, expect some strange slowing downage. I tested, and it works well with fall damage. You may get some unexpected results though, involving vehicles and such...



See, I DO take requests. :P

What Variable to I change to make the hookshot not kill you. I want to be able to use it, but still have fall damage, it would be much apreciated.

Not now...I'm bored enough. I'ma redownload Fraps or get someone else who has it, and make some random video of it


Also when you dl the above version delete the "hookshot" and "wand" scripts, not the "weapon_hookshot" and "tool_wand" scripts.

can someone make a hookshot that is a grapple u can swing on (for help search grapple in garage games forums and click first one and look at badspot's posts)

@Mario: I doubt anyone will...and it's not neccessarily possible. The old BL exe wasn't capable of it I believe. I dunno about the new exe. :|

Aloshi, you need to fix your wand, it's still using the sword datablocks. I was going to swear at you and I don't think I will.

This is starting to remind me of the flame wars in CC dev forums when some modder uses other peoples' instance names...

Good.  Now, change 'Tool_wand.cs' to 'Tool_Hookwand.cs' and edit the cs to change all the 'sword' datablocks to 'Hookwand' datablocks.  Also, I would change the UI name to 'Hookwand' instead of 'Hook-Wand'.  It fits better with 'Hookshot'.

Aloshi, you need to fix your wand, it's still using the sword datablocks.

Unless I'm mistaken, that's the wand that you uploaded...*checks*

I'd love to know how you're coming up with your version numbers, lol.

Also, the slowing down-ness doesn't work very well.  Jet straight up and fire the hookshot straight down.  It still kills you.

It'd be awesome to see some advance scripting here than can detect if the path to the hookshot point is blocked.  There are lots of times when I hookshot to one place and then hookshot in an opposite direction.  I end up dead after slamming into a wall, or the bed, etc.

Just a chance, did you remember this? It happens to people sometimes. :/
