You could blame a lot of this on radical feminism but at the same time it's partially the fault of males too, back in the day when women were property they were also treated with some semblance of reverence, I'm speaking of course about chivalry.

So at that time women didn't have the same rights as men in that they couldn't vote, they often lost a ton of stuff in divorces etc., but they had more rights in that they were treated respectfully (they had doors held open for them, men defended their honor etc.)

So it seems to me that the women of today want the rights that women of old didn't have along with the respect that they did have.
