I don't plan on 8x AA or any stuff like that.
Stuff similar to Premium graphics on Audiosurf being able to run at 25+ FPS.

Since it's a barebone kit, I'm moving everything I can from my old computer to this one.

Old computer
New computer

CPU:
Intel Pentium 4 Single Core "Northwood" 32-bit 2.0GHz (400MHz FSB) (512K L2)
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5500 "Wolfdale" 64-bit 2.8GHz (800MHz FSB) (2MB L2)

Memory:
2GB DDR PC3200 133MHz
2GB DDR3 PC10600 1333MHz

Motherboard:
Intel i845G
Intel DG41BI

Graphics:
nVidia 8400GS PCI 512MB overclocked to 760MHz from 500MHz
nVidia 8400GS PCI 512MB overclocked to 760MHz from 500MHz
Might be this in the future.

HDD:
160GB Ultra ATA 7200RPM
160GB Ultra ATA 7200RPM

Budget is ~$185, by the way.

I keep thinking 512Mb is bad. Is it?

Looks nice to me, but I'm bad with how great of a deal things are when it comes to computer parts. I know what is good and what is bad, though. Prices, not so much.
For $185 that's loving nice though IMO

You won't be playing games on that thing anytime soon. Why can't you people just save your money or check craigslist?!

A) My dad is buying me this, not me.
B) I trust TigerDirect a lot more than Cragislist.
C) I would probably buy something else before I save up $200+.

D) Explain to me how Garry's Mod runs at ~30 FPS (on Windows 7, with Aero on) on my current computer.

I will once I earn more money.
Also, keeping this in consideration^

~30 FPS isn't the best, but it is good for what you have.

30fps isn't even considered playable. You can trust craigslist if you aren't anti-social and mentally handicapped. You will actually have to talk to the person! Maybe when you talk to them you could say something like "Hey, can you show me the computer while it's running?" or "Is there some kind of warranty you could give me if something goes wrong?". It's not that hard...

I beg to differ on the "30fps isn't even playable."

30 is about half as good as it should be, considering the human eyes sees at 60fps.

It's a shame everyone isn't just like you and doesn't have a minimum FPS of 170 at all times no matter what. Why the forget would you think that telling him what he should want the way you're doing it will make him actually listen to you? He probably won't, because you're a massive richardhead, regardless of how great and wonderful Craigslist is.
Edit: Also, he doesn't give a stuff what you consider playable. He thinks it's playable. Problem solved.

Are you handicapped?  It will run quite a few games.  Not crysis or anything new, but it will run most older games.

Wow, you're really loving handicapped.  30 fps isn't playable?! What IS playable then?

Of course it's playable if you have only played games that run with 30fps. It's kind of like a "Living on the surface of the sun isn't that bad, I have lived hear my whole life" scenario. Whereas a normal person would be like "This is loving terrible!".

I simply try to help people. I am not some monster trying to tell people how much better I am.

Hey, guys. Why don't you tell me the difference between playing a game at 30fps and 40fps. You guys are all morons.
