i dont see much purpose in having more then one monitor for non work related things.

i mean... who the forget would GIMP their video card's cores like this?
gamers should NEVER split/dual screen.  EVER

How exactly does it gimp it?

I can't find my camera right now, and I can't use my DSi because I can't find the SD slot on my computer.

i added it on my post

the video card will fraction up the power to every screen plugged in. regardless what they are doing
stupid thing to do

even if you stay at desktop on one while game on another.
the video processing ALWAYS will split the power in half. totally wasting it on the non game one, and lacking on the game side.
Some people's gfx cards can handle running windowed games on high and still have no lag or problems. I just finished testing this.

I have that. :D on my good computer, in my room.
Playing games on one side, youtube with music up on the other side.... It's pretty helpful. <3

so you would own a high end video card, just to use half of it?
seems a huge waste of money just to still not be able to play games and post in forums at the same time anyways.

the point it. this is some trendy kid's fake, tech savvy play.
its not cool at all.

What if you turn 6 monitors into 1 giant screen, that is a pretty gamer thing to do.

I look at it this way; The required power for the games I'm using it for is less than or equal to 1/2 of it's maximum capability , therefore it (meaning my only relatively high-end graphics card,) isn't wasting it's capability as much as properly distributing it.

If there is no problem, then you cut the power in half and there is still no problem... is there a problem? No.

this is even harder to do.

5 desktop screens 1 game screen = you are using a 6th of your video card's power on that game...
6 screens split for some flying game = you are now asking the video card to render just as hard as it always could, but 5x more...

it appears to be cool because you all want some command center desk full of monitors. but its really crap.

I just benchmarked it and without dual screens it was 33.62fps and with it was 32.59. 1 fps isn't exactly a huge difference, especially for the amount you can do with 2 monitors

Like I said. Half of infinity is infinity.

What? It maxed the card both tests

But the point is you see at 24fps or so, meaning that the difference between the two modes is so minuscule that adding another monitor has no negative effect.

you have a "high end" card but you are getting 24fps? even at high settings that is terrible.
"ok" is like 40+

Ignore this post. I posted better pics in a later post.
