 The king could not find the real flower, for all the flowers were crafted with several possible conditions and all scented. He asked the queen to open a window.
 Within minutes, the king had found the real flower. How did he know?

 A man holds out a shining silver candlestick to the detective, looking very eager. "It could sell for thousands!"

 If the candlestick really was from hundreds of years ago, it would've been blackened from exposure. The candlestick shown to the detective was shining.
