Author Topic: "Authentication Failed."  (Read 3326 times)

I can't host until I restart BL then I;ll host for 3 minutes and "Authentication failed." again. I can't join a server for more than 10 minutes without this happening. Sometimes I'm lucky and it never happens but usually it does within 2 hours at the most.

Mocheeze suggested reinstalling and said it's unlikely a keygen thats generated my key and there will be a lot of bugs since BLR is just out and at early stages. I reinstalled just 30 mins ago and it's happened twice already (I've had to restart BL both times).

I hope you know the answer and sorry if I sound stressed at all.. it's just that.. I AM! :cookieMonster:

I've generated that bug, someone's changing your registed while you're playing (family on other pc?) and they're on the main menu.

I'm on the only comp with retail. :panda:

:panda: I've just learned someone, somehow, nicked Aviv's key and he has stopped playing because of it. *cries* Don't let this happen to me!

My key is in a high-security zip file with passwords and ones with passwords inside it. Once they get past the five zip files (All dfferent passwords and not guessable) they have to download the proper text file viewer then open it then decode the key from binary, then from hex, then they have my key.

Also: My passwords are usually 8 characters long with random letters and numbers that I can remember.

Also 2: I deleted the email with my key incase somebody hacks my email.

I was tempted to post "..." but decided to add actual content.

You couldn't just print out a copy of the email and delete it? If you are worried about people stealing the printed copy, then put it in a sturdy locked box. Bonus points if its fire resistant.

And if you are afraid someone would steal the box, rent a safety deposit box.

Man,it's not 50.000USD,its a 20$-Game o_O...
Just write the key on a piece of paper and put it away.
Or burn it on CD...Well..That was Off-Topic,
sorry for that.

Jervan,this bug is kinda weird.
Ask BadSpot to check the connections with your ID to the Masterserver.
If there are many connections from many IPs,
somebody else has got your key.
Else,it's a bug.

But I understand your frustration,
the first day I got my key,it didn't work :)

[EDIT:]
That's exactly what I'm talkin' about,Wedge ^^

Ok.. errm.. Badspot can you check the IPs that have been on the master server using my key?

My key is in my e-mail trashcan waiting to be deleted.
*Gets to recovering it*

Jookia: If someone haxxes your PC, they can just nab "key.dat" from "C:\Program Files\Blockland\" I think - unless Badspot put some extra security on that one.

It seems to have encryption of some sort.

I guess I'll have to live with it or mow another 10 gardens for a new key :(

HMK

Does badspot keep a database of all the keys? If he does maybe he made a mistake, can go in there, and find two keys that are the same but given to different people.
