Author Topic: I need help with my facking Internet D:  (Read 678 times)

I have a NETGEAR N600 router, and a TrendNET PCI card (I dunno if that matters, but still).
I'm trying to downloading the EVE Online setup, and the Internet keeps going down. This happens randomly, not necessarily when I'm downloading something, but it does seem to go down a bit more when I'm downloading something relatively large.
The packets being received on my PCI card will go up for about 30 seconds, and then go down and flatline. Sometimes, it randomly stops and when I try to reconnect to the network, it give me the "Windows cannot connect to this wireless network" error.

Hook your computer directly into the router rather than use WIFI, and see if the problem goes away. This will tell you if the problem is with your router or your wireless card

Edit: I've also found that some companies design stuffty wireless configuration GUI's, so you also may want to read up on how to have Window Zero Configuration manage your wifi device, instead of trendnet's manager.

My computer is down the hall. It's a desktop.

What? How?

Oh. My computer is already using the Zero Configuration (it's called WLAN AutoConfig in Windows 7)

If you are showing us the Trendnet GUI as your wifi network controller, and then tell us that Win7zerosetup is controlling it.... wtf. Thats your problem right there.

Should I disable WLAN AutoConfig then?
