You can't ban people from your server because they got banned from other peoples server
And i'm pretty sure Icy is capable of writing without you helping
No, I would ban them if their known to do stupid and annoying things, or I would at least watch out for them. As for the second part, I meant a group of peope could help gather information to go on the site.

So, if I wanted to help with this, what positions are there?

The forms of news and opinions you've put up in the past have had a tendency to be excellently journalistic and seemed to portray news in a way that it should be portrayed, and I think that more of an outspoken, intelligent voice in Blockland just might be what the community needs to be a little better, if not a little more interesting to look at.

I'm open to authors, just the content quality needs to be decent and I'm not afraid to say no. I don't care who it is, as long as they have the skills, the time, and aren't going to use it for ego purposes (for example "I POST ON A BLOCKLAND BLOG SO YOU SUCK") then please, do send me a sample of your journalistic writing. I don't really understand why some people think just because I run it only well known "famous" people can contribute. Really, we are all just people around the world playing the same game. There is no "fame" to it, some people just stand out more than others.

Alright, but wouldn't you need people that get photos of the whatever they're posting on the blog, too?

I could do that.

:c He doesn't take creative writing.

Oh, lets not go there. That seems to be a common conclusion to everyone trying to start a project. I don't like that baseless comment.

@tails:  Thats not true. I've had many successful projects that were done and finished. I just have the ability to know what its time to call it quits on things that don't work out.

The comment is far from baseless. We never do anything without some kind of personal gain at stake. In Blockland, the content we collectively create is given out for free and thus the motivation is psychological. You might argue that one simply does it altruistically but I feel that is naive. I'm not claiming that I'm any better; indeed, all of my creations are shared in the hope of gaining praise. That is simply the nature of this community.

You may know when a project has failed, but perhaps you need to improve your pattern recognition skills. People have being trying to create a central news source  for Blockland for many years now, and each attempt has failed. In each case, all that happens is a player has decided to make an effort to fulfill a need that does not exist. The community simply does not need a spokesman, regardless of how eloquent or intelligent they may be.

Reactor, it's an online lego game, chill out lol

As I have said, instead of making the news, it would be better if you collected the interesting and released them in a specially edited and annotated form.

Icy, people are on supporting this because you are popular. There isn't enough, if any, interesting news on Blockland. If you want people too know your opinions and Nlockland things go make a Blogspot or Tumblr.

Give McTwist a personal huge 2-page interview :P

I'm pursing a career in journalism and I'm interested to explore online blogging as a media, something thats becoming an important part of all newspaper publishers. Any other unrelated gain would be the ability to have my ideas and thoughts heard, something I often try to do.

While I appreciate kind and constructive comments to things, when it comes to the internet praise to me feels pretty hollow and can sometimes be downright embarrassing. If anything, I expect people to get angry at me writing something that could be controversial. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is no ego element about it. Admittedly, having my ego stroked occasionally from other things such as movie creation doesn't go unwanted, but on this specific occasion its not the intent. Even more so as I don't want people to try and compliment their way into interviews or corrupt whats published by trying to flatter the writers or I.

I could do that.

As with some community journalism papers IRL, the writer takes the photo themselves.

I've developed something... this is the kind of idea I had. Tell me what you think:
blbulletin.blogspot.com

I like this.  Seems a little daunting for a sole contributor, but if you got some more people on board, that could be extremely useful.
