Author Topic: When something becomes overrated it becomes hated  (Read 1021 times)

I find it a bit interesting that the moment everyone begins to discuss how something is overrated it simply becomes hated beyond belief.
Doesn't that somewhat negate the entire point of it being overrated: If something is hated, how is it popular in any way?

When something isnt popular its cool to like it, and then when it becomes popular it becomes cool to dislike it

converse are neat but people keep hating on them

Modern Warfare 2 is a great example.

Memes are kind of what it's like.

Every meme is stupid and overrated even as it's born.

Yay black ops and hannah montana and christianity and justin beiber and other stuff.

who cares if you think you can come up with an 'example'

Nirvana, I think their overrated but I don't hate them.

Justin Beiber is probably the best example.

Modern Warfare 2 is a great example.
It's so true.
I am one of the haters.

I hate it because common people like it. I'm talking about people who call people like me nerds because I play games. I'm talking about people who can't even talk my country's language | correctly. I'm talking about people who don't respect other people. I'm talking about people who need to talk about that very game 24/7 with their stuffty friends who also play that game.

I don't mind popular games. You don't see me hating Half Life, Team Fortress, Quake, Doom, World of Warcraft, Minecraft or Garry's Mod. Why? Because common people in my country don't talk about it. I only hear discussion about these games on the internet. I've never seen someone talk about Minecraft outside of my room.

It's because we want to feel different and special to those around us.

Which is really stupid, because then everyone jumps on the wagon and begins to hate it, and no-one is special anymore.

People should just... actions should be based on intent
I hate insincerity
