Author Topic: Topics seem to devolve into rotting piles of insincere internet 'humor'  (Read 935 times)

Is it just me, or is it really common to see a very interesting and rather significant topic to suddenly give way to what could be recognized as mindless internet phenomena bashing the topic sometimes for no reason, leading to flame wars and other stuff that really shouldn't exist?

I mean, it feels extremely natural to expect someone to tell me:

Yes, it's you.
Seriously, why do people think they're funny when they do things like this? Do they expect praise? Even I am not innocent for things like this. Why do we do this?
I see people verbally attack each other with absolutely no grounds of meaning to do so. Some people may come along and do something with absolutely no impact on a reader who then comes along to attack this person with no purpose. One theory: destructive thoughts carried from outside this community.

I think it's just human nature that we feel the need to degrade the self esteem of others to make ourselves look greater.

Think 'derailing'.
Except worse.

Same goes for people who ask questions that seem like they should know.
For example, what if someone asks how to get something, almost all the time I see someone having to say
""
And that's about it. I mean, what if they couldn't find it? I cant find Mission Editor Add-on until I search withen Addons only enabled and all.

Sometimes two characters who really do not like each other begin to wage their war on some random topic with no relevance to the topic.

It's a sticky in mod discussion.
Lol.

This is what happened to GCat's weapon pack's topic. And another weapon pack has degenerated to all but a flame war.

Yes, it's yo---oh wait.
