Actually, i had heard that they have one in operation out in Iraq for shooting down rockets, but supposedly it requires immense amounts of power to operate.

There's also LRAD, a vehicle mounted noise producer that creates a high pitched noise in a certain field of "fire" that is so annoying it usually forces crowds to break and move out of the way.

That's a special type of crowd control device used by Riot police. I don't think it does any actual damage, but from the documentaries i have seen on it, i would say it's safe to assume it hurts like hell.
