Author Topic: Graphics cards - Switch?  (Read 547 times)

I currently have a Nvidia Geforce EVGA 9800 gt 1gb vram, and I saw this on BestBuy and was wondering if I should currently switch or go for something else?

I suggest going for a video card that doesn't suck stuff. That card is also worse than what you have.

How so?

Scratch that off, I guess.

I want a new processor most of all, but I would need a new motherboard and processor.

Get a nvidia 460GTX 1 gig. Then you won't have to upgrade for the next say... 5-10 years.

Hell if I know. stufftier transistors? I didn't design the thing.

Your current video card is a higher end card from the 9000 series which is better than the stuff card from the 200 series.

Except I want OTHER things for Christmas. As in, a monitor, a wireless PCI card.

And, I dont trust my mother with buying things online.

Take her credit card.
Don't tell her.
Purchase it.
Receive package before mother does.
Install.
???
Profit!

I guess that's not TOO ultra expensive...

Except, I already am asking for a 200 dollar monitor. I don't want to break my parents wallet.

I wouldn't spend 200 bucks on a large monitor. Use a small one. Tis better. Easier to see, uses less resources, cheap!

Also you're going to need a quad core processor to get the video card's max potential. I only have a dual core so I'm only able to use 50% of its power based off benchtests. I have a quad core that came in a few days ago for Christmas but my dad won't let me put it in until Christmas. :C

It can overclock to 4.2ghz. O_o

I sure do wish i had 1000 dollars to spend on a computer.

EDIT: I have a dual core pentium D, so I DOUBT HIGHLY I will make good use of it.
