Author Topic: [VIDEO] AfterBlock - Clan Manager, Brick Maker, and Add-on Packager Demo  (Read 3833 times)

I also suggested something on Block Factory: Ramps, rounds, and prints? I Hope you accept the idea and that it fits the whole concept.

3 Steps:

- Make a description, select its type
- Chose the files
- Zip

Simple, it just fragments the description and file selection to make it more straight forward.
Mabey you could give me a suggestion on my version then;

I can tell its not very user friendly as I hoped.

Don't hijack this thread with what is direct competition. I ain't helping in any form or way.

EDIT: Oh, also AfterBlock does not limit the amount to package.

Sorry. I can respect that. Anyway, good luck.

So did you like my idea Icy?

Its very decent of you to be so gracious, however I've had the morals beaten out of me as far as the community goes so don't be surprised if I come across nastily.

@Bonestorm
I'm not so sure what you meant in that comment.

Now all you need to add is a Low Orbit Ion Collider app that can DDoS Blockland every time it is used.

Something like a tablet, a cube screen where you can draw in a cube / circle shape and then that could become a print by setting the tablet to print sizes and a copy been made to 64x64 If i am correct. And then use Add-on Packager.

Understood.

Both of your things look good so far, but they are also pointless and really nothing but a novelty. We don't need software to simplify what's already simple enough. If someone needs an "add-on packager" to zip their files, they probably are too stupid to make add-ons. Square bricks are simple enough to make, so we don't need a visual editor. I could keep clan attendance just as easily with a excel spreadsheet or a piece of paper. All these programs are really doing is keeping their creators busy. There is nothing wrong with making little things for fun, but you don't need to act like they are going to be the next big thing.

Not every Windows computer cannot zip correctly. Such as me, I cannot create .zip files. Thus a add-on package would be good for me.

I don't think it's your computer, I think your too stupid to figure it out or troubleshoot it.

AfterBlock is self confessed as a tool thats designed to pack novelty factor, while providing games to pass the time, and offer practical services. Its about bringing Blockland out of the game and onto your desktop. Using an excel spreadsheet is not as attractive. It doesn't show a status, and isn't as easy to setup, and its not designed for such purpose. Not everyone has Excel, and the point is it offers a range of small services that are useful to Blockland in one single easy program.

I suggest that even if you still don't find AfterBlock attractive, at least reserve your final opinion until you've had a chance to try it. Because theres a lot about the program I am not releasing until its finished.

Right Click -> New -> "Where the hell is 'Compressed Zip Folder'?"
