I've had paint.net for a while and i'm a little confused on how to make things trans.
Do you put the inivisible color on it?

Eraser & select a area and press "del".
You will get the hang of it.

Get the magic wand. Click the background you want to trans. Erase it. Save as a png. You're done.

I tried that with my avi, and it just turned black.

Your avatar needs to be 75x75 or smaller or else it will lose transparency in resizing.
