Somewhat, I just searched on Newegg until I found a computer that suited my needs.

PC I originally wanted to buy:

AMD Phenom II x4
4Gb of DDR3 Memory
I TB storage
ATI Radeon HD 5770 5570

I showed it to my dad, and discussed it with his friends. The next thing I know my dad tells me he ordered a $700 computer that is basically the same thing. The original computer was $550.

Turns out my dad bought me a pretty awesome computer, but it's still nearly $800.
