Author Topic: Is this a good graphics card?  (Read 1838 times)

dual core is not 2 cpus.

and a dual 2.0 is pretty bad for gaming nowadays.

While we're asking questions about changing stuff, how does an "integrated" graphics card differ from a others?

video rendering requires memory and processing.

when its integrated, all rendering is done with the main ram and cpu of the computer.

while a video "card" has its OWN ram and cpu to use, freeing up more resources for the computer to run everything else better.

So, a non-integrated one is better?

Overall, it sounds like I got a loving buisness computer.

Two gigs of dedicated video ram!? I think I just jizzed. But it's pointless to have that good of a card when your processor and ram isn't high end.

So, a non-integrated one is better?

Yes.

yes.

integrated means the monitor plugs directly into the motherboard, as the computer dont even have a video card.

Is there anything easyer like just plugging in a graphics card instead of "implanting" it?

Yes.
yes.
forget.

Now my computers suck even more than I was already aware of.
I didn't even think that was possible.

Integrated cards usually come with motherboard deals. You can easily just "plug in" a video card if you buy the card and motherboard seperately. My new motherboard that came in has a high end Radeon integrated card but I can still put my Nvidia 460GTX in and make my computer use that instead.

Because it's integrated into the mother board.

Christ where did that whole new page come from.

So, is it possible I can just plug in a new quality graphics card and make it work from there without opening up my whole entire laptop?

No. There's no such thing as external video cards... YET! You'll have to pop that bitch open and put it in. You also have to worry about a video card fitting into your dam case to begin with though because laptops are a bitch to upgrade.

EDIT: Also I re-read OP and saw that you had issues with Minecraft. Minecraft uses a lot of ram. How much ram do you have? You should have at least 4 gigs.

No.  We all want external graphics cards though. :(  Or at least a modular laptop.

Ok, im guessing, overall, I have a stuff computer (excluding Windows 7 <3) and im screwed for upgrading?

We should invest into external graphics card technology. That would sell like candy. I have a friend who's really good with hardware. Maybe we could start a project? :D

You can try to but like I said laptops are starfishs to upgrade. Also Win 7 is probably slowing down your computer because even though Win 7 is awesome, it's a resource hog. OS uses about 1 gig of ram. :C
