Author Topic: Trading Cards - That old Add-On from 2007... I found it.  (Read 19326 times)

IMO; the only things the cards need are a picture of the person, their name and id.
Agreed. Of course the borders and rarity icon too. Or just the borders if you wanna be minimalistic.

We need ability cards... Just kidding.
Or great add-on cards and Blockland history cards.

Or great add-on cards and Blockland history cards.
Those were all in my original design which had battles, rewards, achievements and stuff. It's was a lot like Pokemon in Blockland.

I used to play with Pokémon cards...

  • Rocket L.: Attachment
  • Spear: Attachment

While I did have the idea of making cards about other things than people, don't think about pokemon when talking about this mod.

MCP and Gobbles cards as part of the "Infamous TBM" Pack. ;)

Pokemon as in battles, rarities, stats, damage values, skill cards and so on.

You don't battle with these cards.

What this really should be like is this.

It is pretty much the hat mod. There will be a GUI for checking all the cards you have. New cards could be in the new cards tab. Seen cards would be in a collection tab.

When you select a card, you can either look at it, or you could trade it. Now, this would be client sided, so if you spend all your time at one server and have all those cards, but then you join another, you lose them, no, that won't happen.

Trading. When you select a card to trade, you have to enter an ID to trade with. Then, you click the "TRADE!" button. When you trade, he will get an IRC type pop up. It will say "Blockhead wants to trade with you." He will click the pop up, and then, he sees the card, decides which card to trade for. Then he replies back, then Blockhead has to agree.

The process.

Blockhead 1 chooses the card he wants to trade, then he enter the ID on who he wants to trade with.
Blockhead 1 sends it.
Blockhead 2 receives the trade invite.
Blockhead 2 decides what to trade.
Blockhead 2 sends the card he is willing to trade for the card Blockhead 1 wants to trade.
Blockhead 1 receives the message.
Blockhead 1 can agree to it and trade, or decline.

The types of cards.

To me, I would like to have 3 different types of cards.

1. Players
2. Items
3. Maps

They have no use but to collect. They will be different colors.
Player cards will be blue. Items yellow. Maps red.
Each card will have a name of the place/item/player a description of it, and then a picture of it.

This is just a rushed Paint. NET drawing of what they should look like.

I highly doubt you've read much of this thread's replies.
Many of those ideas are already planned, others have been publicly denied.
Do read the thread.

You said you'd make cards, you do not need to be editing/creating/viewing any pictures to do so.
It's all just text.

i geuss ill make a rushed model of the trading card

Model? What the forget, I never asked for any models, what does modeling have to do with anything?
And there isn't any mod, I haven't released it yet.
God dam it, read the thread.
Making cards is just typing stats like this:
Code: [Select]
DrenDran 22749 A_player_of_blockland. 0.05 0
Bushido 2000 Example_card_number_two. 0.01 2
Nethog 1337 Example_card_number_three. 0.01 1
Badspot 1 Example_card_number_four. 0.01 3
Read the thread and you'll see exactly what each field means.
