Am I a good frown doctor?
No, you are only trained in the music department of frown doctoring.

Ignorance, because no one cares why they are doing what they do, or why they think what they think.
And apathy, because no one gives a stuff what happens to anyone else but them.

Apathy is a state of being emotionless.  Completely indifferent.

In reality many people really don't care at all about most of the things that happen outside of their close friends and family.

Metal...All--Encompassing..Most artistic...talent... What is wrong in this picture? Everything. Because, like you said, metal has declined to a state equal to the bottom feeders of ocean bottoms. Never will they be able to re-create such works of pure musical rt like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. Those were quality bands, not this My Chemical Romance and Mettallica horse manure. And... Footnote- Metal is definitely not the most artistic. What about bands like the Beatles? They weren't metal. yet they're one of the most amazing and well-received bands ever.
What is wrong in this picture? My Chemical Romance isn't metal. How are you comparing them to Metallica who have been attributed with much the same thing as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin - for being the ancestors of modern metal? And I'm not talking grindcore or noise metal, I'm talking proper metal, real melodies being formed in cohesion between the band, not four handicaps wailing on instruments and calling it music (which is still not what MCR is).

Now as for "not the most artistic", let me say something about art. Art is subjective. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Ergo it is impossible for one thing to be statically more or less appealing than something else. You don't like metal (but please don't post horribly misinformed opinions about it - learn your stuff first, name dropping a couple of legends does not an informed post make) and that's your choice. I don't like dance music, and that's my choice. Another thing about art is that often it has some meaning beyond its immediate creation, some message or purpose (although not always).

For example:
Diablo, Lamb of God (AAA SCREAMING AND GROWLING AAA ITS stuff ITS NOISE METAL AAA OH NO), Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Mastodon, Dream Theater

Another thing about metal is variance. I don't need to listen to whole other genres because in the amount of metal I have to listen to I have stuffloads of bands that all sound totally different to each other.

But not only are the girls actually girls but the acting was better. The researchos were unique. Now it's the same stuff over and over again, you just see how a guy comes into the picture and forgets the girl. Where's the RP? I've yet to see one older researcho that has no RP in it.
Some of us watch research for research, not to watch some people play house with no clothes on. Honestly it's just creepy, I mean forget I'm a roleplayer myself (I actually USE MY OWN CHARACTER'S NAME WHEN I PLAY DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS, DEEEAAARR GOOODDD, as well as occasionally participating in strict text roleplay) but roleplaying in research is just... weird. :I

As to the actual topic of the thread, yes, the quality of most things is getting worse. The main reason it feels bad is because it's different to how it was before. Some things are worse than others, like the games industry and the cost of living and children's attitudes.

I mean I quite enjoy life still. The quality of my friends hasn't deteriorated (though the quality of my family has), booze still gets me drunk, the games I play are still fun (which is remarkable considering that the games I play most are the same games I've played for the majority of the past two years), the sun still shines, the grass still grows, the birds still fly (except Indian Myna Birds if I get my hands on them, I loving hate those things and genuinely enjoy feeding them to my cat) and brotha, the scout still hurts people (FISHKILL).

More or less it's not entirely the world getting worse, though that does play a part, but it's the human condition of focusing on tragedy rather than comedy, or just the bad over the good. Some things are still as good as they've always been and the key to being happy is just to focus on those things rather than crying about how lolly bags were 50c when you were a kid and now they're $3 (Honestly this is one of the #1 things I hate about today's world. I miss being given a $2 coin and being able to be excited, and I'm no less a kid now than I was ten years ago. Lolly bags are still awesome, you know.)

Actually, now that I think about it, bluntly stating that some form of art such as music has gotten 'worse' is actually ignorant within itself, which makes OP a hypocrite.

WHY THE forget WOULD YOU WRITE SOMETHING THAT LONG?

YOU REALIZE NO ONE WILL READ IT, CORRECT?

Just because 90% of people have ADHD doesn't mean everyone does.

That is, in fact, the only topic-relevant point I made in that post.

These are the same point, basically, so yeah, I agree.

The sad part is that they've stopped producing good metal after 1998. They've lost their touch. Just look at St. Anger.

What. I think you misunderstand me. I don't know what you see when I say RP in research but I'm talking about how you see a girl doing something (secretary, household, dinner bla) and then they act like in a little movie before they just forget themselves braindead. And instead of just screaming all of the time they actually speak together talking about the situation like "Oh god, don't, what if the boss comes in/my husband comes from work/the children come back to class".

I remember how desperate I wanted money just for some sweets. With just 5fr I could've bought tons of sweets and be happy all day.

everything you think doesn't suck still exists for you.
the additional new things that suck you can just not take part in.

are you actually mad that there arent new things similar to what you had? because that is pretty contrary to what new even is.

Everything sucks because it was made for stupid people someone unlike you. There still may be some stuff that you may actually like.
