Author Topic: How do you make addons?  (Read 6559 times)

I was wondering someday I would make addons and not sit here and do nothing well thank you if you help me with addons.

There are a LOT of topics just like this one.

You might think that making add-ons just requires enlightenment into coding and modeling skills.

It's not that simple, though.

It takes perseverance, patience, a long time spent learning Torque scripting and modeling in either Milkshape or Blender, and proper packaging.

I once was a young Blockhead with a dream like you. Two years later (minus a 10-month hiatus), I still don't know coding well enough to make much more than a modified weapon with a different projectile.

But, people are different. And you may catch on quickly. Don't give up, study coding, practice modeling in Blender, and ask questions.

At least now i'm a modeler now.

Wait how do you download the milkshape and blender?

Wut.

First of all i'm thinking of becoming a modeler then a scripter later on and can you give out instructions how to download the modeling programs?

You... download them. Just go to the website and download the one for your computer.

Blender is free, but I don't think Milkshape is.

Alternative to becoming a scripter: Offer to do models for scripters who suck at modeling.
Check the Modification Discussion if you get good enough.

Altough when i'm going to blender when I go to a download page for download it goes into a white screen.

Could you give out exact instructions please?

You could have a scripter help you if you don't know how to script.

How to install those programs please?

Go here and download: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/
Next Download Python: http://www.python.org/download/

Drag "Python" Into the "Blender" Folder (I think but I am probably wrong with that one. Best to double check)

Open blender
