Author Topic: lovey Computer Parts For A lovey Christmas  (Read 1181 times)

Well I wasn't going to post this but the excitement is killing me and I need to get it off my chest. Basically I got a new motherboard, like usual I don't know the exact model but I know it supports DDR3 ram and has a bus speed of 1066. It has 2 PCI 16x slots and 1 PCI 8x slot. I also got one of AMD's fastest processor. The Phenom II or whatever the hell it's called. It's a quad core processor that is 3.5ghz and can overclock up to 4.2ghz. I also got two sticks of 4gig ram even though I have 32 bit but I'll upgrade sooner or later. I also got a new computer case, I haven't seen it yet but it's suppose to look lovey and comes with a huge ass fan. And lastly I'm getting a new computer supply. Metro 2033 with tessellation enabled, here I come. :3

Also I have my Christmas stuff right next to me but I can't build my computer yet until Christmas. That's why it's driving me insane.

Anyway to take my mind off of it?

My dad also might buy another 460GTX so I can crossfire once the prices drop. It ain't gonna happen anytime soon but it'll be epic.

And lastly, no I'm not a rich kid. I won't be getting stuff after this Christmas but it's worth it. I also earned it by working my ass off with 12 different projects within a one month period. I made like 3 different 3D animations, programmed software, made like five different videos, designed a logo in Adobe Illustrator, and a lot of other crap. Dam Asian school, giving us Asian work. >:U

You should host a server on Blockland so I can get my mind off my Alienware M11x coming, and you can get your mind off your PC you can't build.
That, and because I'm bored as hell and there are no good servers up.

Probably tomorrow. It's like 1:00 A.M. over here. Probably shouldn't have posted this too late. :P

It's 2:10 AM where I live.

I doubt I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight...or for the rest of the nights I don't have an M11x...

That's the thing with laptops. They're really not something you can build like desktop PC's. Plus, I got the M11x because of the tiny size of the thing.

However, I'm still fine with my self-built desktop PC from 2008, but that's gonna get upgraded next probably. I'll either just make a whole new build or upgrade my current CPU, GPU and RAM.

I dunno yet.

Oh I see the M11x is a laptop. Have fun with a the half an hour battery limit. :/

My laptop has a high end Radeon that rapes my laptop's battery. My laptop can usually last 3 hours but running Dead Rising 2 drops it to like 30 minutes. If you're gonna play games, have it plugged in. Also makes a huge framerate difference since video cards now-a-days uses so many dam watts.

...uh?
This thing has an ultra low voltage processor (SU7300), so the battery life is actually really good. From what I've heard, you can get about 2.5-3.5 hours of gaming out of it, and if you switch over to the integrated graphics, you can get up to 7-8 hours of battery life. Plus, you don't need to have it plugged in to utilize the GPU completely.

It has a nVidia GeForce GT335m.

Another reason why I got it, actually.

Nice. I guess Alienware really knows their stuff eh? Well I'm going to attempt sleep. Really doubt I'll be able to pull it off though.

Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to sleep either.
