Author Topic: Deism  (Read 642 times)

I have decided that I'm going to be a Deist. I have said this to my friends for many years now. That I believe in God, but I don't think he has anything to do with what goes on in our every day lives. "OMG THE CHILD LIVED. THIS IS ACT OF GOD" "No. he just got really loving lucky." Yea... Just thought I'd tell you all something that most likely none of you care about.

a conversation with christian parents about this would be more interesting to hear about.
even more so from the typical ones that dont even know what deism would mean.

It was a hard hit when I told my dad I was an atheist.

God is real and all atheists will go to hell.

I can dig Deism. It's not like a disapprove of people believing in god, I think two things:
A. It's extremely narcisstic and arrogant to think that a god, above all his other creations, cares about you and everything that happens to you and has a hand in everything that happens everywhere, not to mention scientifically fallible.
B. Religion is not a force for good anywhere in the world. It's a terrible thing and it does terrible things.

Our founding fathers were deists, by the way.
