Author Topic: A paradox.  (Read 3524 times)

Nothing is immovable, nor is anything unstoppable.
He means theoretically if that were to exist/happen

As for the god part, i hope you're also being theoretical or i'll have to redirect you to the "Ultimate question"
Thread.

Question one:
Inertia. An object in motion will remain in motion until it is stopped. Therefore, unless the immovable object is sheer, the unstoppable force will either:
  -Be forced to stop,
  -or burn through the object.
Question two:
God's will does not affect our free will. God, however, knows our future and he influences us in our choices. Therefore, it is up to us on the choice. God's will is an influence, giving us guidance. Our free will is the choices we make with that influence.

1) This cannot happen in our universe.

2) This isn't a paradox. God makes free will impossible. That's all there is too it. Luckily enough there is no god so this doesn't matter either.

The second statement is true. The first statement is false.

Thread won.
That is the same point i am proving in this topic.
If you'd take a look it'd show why people make religion and believe in this god, and pretty much believe anything religous.

The second statement is true. The first statement is false.

the first statement is also true. an unstoppable force would have to have infinite energy and an immovable object would have to negate any energy applied to it.

But in the first statement, an unmovable object doesn't have to be moved to be "burned through" as carolcat said.

that would move the particles in it...

I'm lying.

But since that's not true I really am lying, but that means I am telling the truth.

AGGHHH STFU
You are a horse therefore the argument is invalid

Alright, lets simplify things here:

Lets take an unstoppable force, Gravity.
Now apply this force to any object, say a wooden board. Now lets say that board is leaning on the side of a large stone building.

Gravity is unstoppable, so because the board is leaning on the building due to gravity, it is infinity pushing at the ground and the stone building.

The building won't be moving any time soon because of that board, thus being an unmovable object. The board isn't just going to fly away, it's force, or weight, can only be redirected, such as if it falls over or is moved.

There ya go...

God could be seeing the current timeline. If anything changes, a new timeline branches off. :D
