Author Topic: Can anyone translate chords into tabs?  (Read 1446 times)

I've never learned to read chords since I don't have the time to learn complicated (imo) things or the money to hire a teacher. I only play by reading tabs, since this is much easier. I learned to play "Fear of the dark" and a few other songs this way (I still have some problems, it's just been 3 months since I started to learn playing guitar). Oh well;

can anyone translate into tabs?

I thought that most of the users play instruments?

I play cello and I'm going to learn saxophone but I'm not really that well informed on the technical side of playing. I usually just play songs by heart and when I read sheet music I only remember the positions not the notes.

I'm pretty sure somebody knows how to do this.

Also did you try google?

I'm not sure what I should google but the thing is that I get different results if I try looking for the chords separately, so that I'm unable to play it.

What. This is impossible to play.

lol those chords are loving easy

Are you kidding, these are very easy.  I write Jazz Chords for fun.

For instance, one of my more simple progressions is:
|:.C9. . . | .A-11. . . | .D9sus. . . | .G6. ,^G7. :|etc.
The chords you posted are ametuer chords, unless there is some kind of rythem or /(Note) extension that seems hard, in which it will take you practice.  If you want to simply learn basic music theory to find out what to play on a chord, use the Root + 3rd and 5th for starters.  Start at the root and go up 2 whole steps, then add annother note either a 4th down or a 5th up depending on what sounds better to you.  For a 7th, add a note a whole step down from the root or go an octive up with the root with your 4th finger and move down 2 frets.

According to the site that snot posted I'm supposed to play the first chord (Cm) like this;

As you can see, it's impossible for me to even just play that one chord /confused

get bigger hands

i have no idea, i don't play guitar. :)

my dad does, but whatever

4 means fret the note on the A string with your 4th finger, i.e., pinky.

So, you're right. Even with my loving comically large hands it's almost impossible to fret it with my third finger, but it's relatively easy with my fourth.

Purchase a ukelele for your stubby lil fingers.

My badass, muscular, calloused bass playing hand will kick your piano playing hand's ass.
