Author Topic: Which should I use Blender or Milkshape?  (Read 667 times)

I decided that I should try making stuff for Blockland, but I don't know if I should use Blender or Milkshape.

Please help!

Definitely Blender. It takes a while to get used to the interface and the various bugs since it's still at beta. Just save often and you'll do fine.

Blender is free and is pretty easy to use when you've learned. Too bad the new update is only for new people at Blender, since they moved all the old buttons around and now I can barely use it.

Blender
Free, and very versatile.
Though I'd look at tutorial for it at Cgtuts about how to use it.(google it)

Thanks guys I know what I should use!

Each has its pros and cons.
Blender has a wider range of moddling toold and hard interface.
Milkshape is very easy to learn but limits you in it's interface in trying to create a low-poly, but decent object.

The only hard interface on Blender is 2.50 and above.
I saw a vid on 2.49's interface and learned it in one night. (not the entire interface)

Milkshape is free for the first 30 days, I recommend trying it first before you make a decision.

So much truth.

Blender is much better for making models look nice, especially auto-filling faces, extruding, and beveling. Milkshape is much better for vertex manipulation, creating basic shapes, as well as having lots and lots of advanced config and tools.
