I've seen Connected in other servers, and he didn't generally act like this in them. Not saying he was the most intelligent, but he is probably just really high, or loving with us.

It was said that Connected! changed his/her name to Connected (without an exclamation mark). You might've been with a different Connected.

Plus, I did a search on RTB. Only one person has their current name as "Connected", and only one other person has had their name as "Connected!", therefore disproving my theory. Connected!'s name now is Hurricane. The one you were with was either one with a coincidentally identical name, or it was the same one. Hrm.
