Author Topic: I have a question about the "New Hosting"  (Read 703 times)

How exactly does it work without forwarding ports? Can someone explain in-depth what it does to allow hosting?

Also, I was told RTB forwards your ports for you. I call bullstuff, but someone explain that too.

The "New Hosting" uses UPnP to host a server with no port forwarding.

For some reason even with this new hosting, I can't host a server - or a joinable one.

I'm on a Mac - Snow Leopard - 10.5.8, and for the love of God, do not quote "Mac" and say "THERS UR PROBLM LOLOLOLOL".

Unless on macs there really is a problem/bug with hosting - in that case please inform me of why.

As far as I know you can host on macs, however I've never used one with BL so I wouldn't know.

Is UPnP enabled on your router?

I don't know.

How do I?
Sabbin Im hate to tell you that from what I've heard you cant use UPnP
on apple software(mac)unless theres a way to port forward on macs other than using the normal way of port forwarding on a mac.

My head assploded.

Im confused, what do you have? Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6+) or Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5-10.5.8)

I have Leopard (10.5.8) and I can host just fine.

The method stickied for being the "definitive method" for port forwarding on a mac is actually only for one brand of apple router; Sabbin, you need to find out what router you are using.
