Author Topic: My brick isn't working  (Read 1874 times)

I decided to make a brick for a movie. It uses a custom model. I used Platinum Blockland to generate it, worked fine so far. Then I renamed the .blb file. Then I edited the server.cs and all and put another model than the one I was going to use, since it's WIP. Just to test it. I packaged it right, I know that. It showed up when I started Blockland. But, when I tried to place it, it was the wrong size, and the model wasn't there. Instead it showed up as a normal 2x4 brick, and I couldn't hammer it. The only way to delete it was Ctrl + Z. So, what did I do wrong?

Does anyone ever visit this section? I never get a reply on the same day I post the question...

Make sure it is a "Special" brick. Make sure your model is in there. Read Spaceguy's reference.

It has to be "Special"? The pole bricks aren't and they aren't in the "Special" tab. Yes, my model is there.

Okay. I'm terribly sorry that I don't really know every single thing you need to know about making bricks. I'm really sorry.

Okay. I'm terribly sorry that I don't really know every single thing you need to know about scripting. I'm really sorry.
Scripting and making bricks are two very different things. Just pointing out.

Happy now? By the way, I read Space Guy's manual. I've understood the point that you're supposed to change it to special, but how do I change that? There's no way to open the .blb file like you do with .cs files...

Yes you can. blb is a text file just like .cs.

But right clicking it doesn't show any "Open with" option (or whatever it's called on your english computers).

Not my problem if your OS sucks.

I use XP.
Wait, am I supposed to just double click it to open the text?

Yeah, double click, if it doesn't open, then it should ask you to select a program to open it with. Choose notepad.

Okay, that worked. But now, when I try to place it, there's no ghostbrick (the sounds are still there though) and nothing appears when I place it.

What's platnium blockland?
