Author Topic: BEN: True or Real?  (Read 5420 times)

This Haunted Majora's Mask thing is giving me NIGHTMARES. Here's the origin:

On Tuesday, September 7th, 2010, a 4chan user named Jadusable posted a long thread about his experiences with a haunted Majora’s Mask cartridge for the N64. Basically, it explains that he got a shady looking Majora’s Mask cartridge from an old man. When he went to his dorm-room to play it, he noticed it had a file named “BEN” on it. He decided to ignore it, creating a new file. When he talked to characters, however, they didn’t always refer to him as “Link;” sometimes they referred to him as “BEN” as well. Figuring it would help the problem, Jadusable deleted the “BEN” file.

Unfortunately, this didn’t work. Now characters would not refer to his name at all. He decided, frustratedly, to do the “4th day glitch” (essentially, you can do this to get an extra day to do your stuff). What happened next was really obscure. He was ported to the Majora boss battle at the end of the game, but something wasn’t right. It didn’t display text correctly, the music was the Song of Healing except reversed, and it was just altogether frightening. Eventually he was ported back to Clock Town.

What he found here was even more disturbing. The textures were missing, the music was once again screwed up, and no NPCs were in the town at all. (This is where the first video) You can now just start to watch the videos he “took” during the time these things were happening; in the descriptions there are explanations of what was going on.

This is creeping out. Jadusauble has his own Blog, and says he will Release Majora's Mask for a price around 1.99, for a PC version of HMM i think. Here's his blog.

Discuss this BEN stuff.
(PS: I used this in the Scary Stories thread by Watcher in the Myst.)

It's not real.

Here's the link to it if you're in for a good read. Generally all stories like this aren't real.

It was most likely recorded in a emulator. It still is very interesting even though it's not real.

On the final video there is a mediafire link, and the description says something along the lines of "Go ahead you're free." I haven't downloaded it simply because the story scared me, and I don't want Ben to forget my stuff up. (Even though I know it's not real, there is a "what if" factor)

Go to Judasables website. He explains how he pulled it off.

Coincidentally, i was re-watching these videos

It's still entertaining

Plus, if you line his videos up, it makes a sentence:
2
Free
Jadusable
(he)
Drown(ed)
Ben
(on)
Day Four

it's not real, how could it be?

Yet he JUST loving posted something yesterday.
Most people think Jad is Troubled and Trapped.
Like he's Afraid of BEN
I dont know why an old man on his street would give him a free video game
that's forgeted up to death

it's not real, how could it be?
Real by meaning BEN is the Elegy of Emptiness in the Average MM you'd play.
But in this cartridge everything is forgeted up to death.
i can't wait til it's released to PC.

Plus, from his blog,

this game CANNOT glitch. There must be no glitches in this game, because in a game BASED around scripted anomalies and glitches, a rogue glitch that Jad didn't intend to be there could, depending on the circumstances, destroy the game completely.

Hah. This game will give me nightmares

You really needed validation that, that story was fictional?

What i'm confused about, is why didn't this guy just stop playing?
