ScriptingNotepad++ for something to script with and the language or if you have an extra $20 this Torque Interactive Tutorial
MODELINGBlender 2.49 with a tutorial (kinda boring, but VERY helpful. Stay awake if you want to learn how use this) or Blender 2.50, which has no tutorial currently, but is upgraded.

and to the blender thing also ldd ldd is what i use to make addons ldd ldd= lego digital desighner s my addons are more blockyer but all my topics in addons keep disappearing

To shoot players and have it damage them, you need to both be in a minigame. Press Escape, Minigame, Create. Then shoot away! Damage must be checked for it to work.
