Well, I guess, yea.

It's really about how you use it. You've done it in a non-threatening way.

I've tried to abuse the effect to create some form of distortional horror.

I can very well understand if you think (and probably know) that this is cheap and incredibly easy to make.
I did the editing last night when my internet went off. I had to print screen so I didn't have transparency

Your right, I haven't made any Faces. I have however, made plenty of prints.
You should check them out...    See for yourself if I have nothing to go on.
