Edit the file, then delete your game's cache file. Allow up to several minutes or more for the cache to be rebuilt. It should work after that.

It's fuel, not water.

The only thing that will happen is that add-ons downloaded from servers will be deleted.

Sometimes fresh oil will be lighter looking than gasoline. depends on brand.
