Author Topic: Best media player?  (Read 955 times)

So, I'm looking to finally switch from iTunes, since it won't let me convert to mp3.

Basically, I just want opinions on which media player is best and why.

Preferably, I'd like a media player that categorizes the music like iTunes, with the ability to convert my music to mp3 (and not destroy the original) and be able to accept mp4 files from iTunes.

Yes, I have googled, and most publication's comparisons are really old.

RealPlayer would be my suggestion. The program download is free and you can download any clip of music or video from the internet and keep it on the go. That also means you can download all the stuff iTunes offers (and more), and do it all for free. And don't worry, this is 100% legal.

Once you have your desired media, you can also download Audacity (free as well) and use that with the RealPlayer converter to convert all your downloaded media into sound-only files.

VLC for movies, Winamp for music.

Winamp, BS Player, Quicktime, WMP  :cookieMonster:.

I dislike realplayer and quicktime and winamp

I actually like windows media player after customizing it

I generally use the Zune program.

I liked VLC from the few times I've used it, But I've already got Winamp configured to my liking so I don't feel like switching/trying something else.

I use VLC only for movies. I use Media Player Classic for music.

Same ^^

VLC because it plays everything

I don't watch any movies on my computer.  The closest I get is streaming youtube videos.

Will it be a pain to convert my music library from iTunes to Winamp?
