Author Topic: Saying Lag doesn't make it better  (Read 2965 times)

MANY times on alot of servers people say stuff such as "LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG!" Or "LAGSTORM TIMES THE TENTH OF A MILLENIUM! OMG LAG LAG STOP IT HAJKF!" It doesn't make things any better. It's spam, and it makes the lag even worse. We've all done it or encountered it. If you see someone doing it, and you are an admin or a super admin, just kick them. If they ask why, say you're spamming. There is absolutly no reason people need to spam up a server with lag. That, or you could just make it a restricted word. Simple. But we ALL know how annoying it is. Seriously, if you see someone doing it, take action, talk to a server admin, or if you are one, kick the noob. Only noobs say that. Fact of matter. Just stop it. It's really annoying. We can all agree on that.

but also i dont kick people or ban people much unless they really piss me off.

I agree and half the time it's not even my server.

It's the fact that they have crappy computers that can't even handle more than five bricks.

Which is why I have almost every freaking form of lag in my e-tard filter.

It really IS annoying, just put LAG or laggy lag or lagstorm and etc. on your e-tard filter.

No it doesn't.
From a psychological point of view, you're furiously typing lag. All that you're thinking about is that lag and how it is so frustrating. Thus, making the period of time which it is lagging to seem longer.

But you're right.

I don't think you realize that it's not only the new people who do this, nor does everyone find it annoying. I think that you're speaking for too wide a community to say "WE ALL".

that said, this topic could be not posted, but alright, whatever

@kalph: i kind of agree. although it may be annoying, you really can't tell the difference of the lag. the miniscule difference can't really be sensed unless you're looking at latency or something, and even then it'd be hard to spot.

It's one small packet of data going to the server and each client. It's nothing compared to a second of gameplay.

No it doesn't.
It's dependent on the server or how the person is saying "lag". If they are spamming a whole damn page up and the server is prone to spam lag, then yes, it will make it worse, otherwise, you are correct.

it makes the lag even worse.
No, it doesn't.
Only noobs say that.
This is just stupid.
kick them.
I've never met someone who spammed lag needlessly. Usually they only say lag a few times, maybe in ALL CAPS, but a kick still isn't necessary. By the way, isn't there a mute add-on? If so, then you should probably for it.
It doesn't make things any better.
It can if the host notices and does something to remove lag.

Overall, though:

Nope, not even.

Stop ignoring Chrono. :)

If there is no flood protection. Some guy turned it off or something, they can repeativly say it OVER AND OVER. I guess it wont lag TOO bad, but it lags in small amounts for the people with crappy computers. You're 90% right on this one though.

No it doesn't.
Rendering Blockland is faster than rendering Blockland and "lag".
