Three points. One, you don't know what edgy means. Two, black and red is a common color scheme because it has a remarkable tendency of working with a large amount of designs, partially because black goes with almost everything. Three, spiky stuff everywhere is also not indicative of an "edgy" design, I've seen plenty of designs with a lot of spikes and sharp edges which aren't necessarily "edgy".
Gave the drawing of my fighting game guy a background, like I always do..
