The thumb is unable to bend that far over your fingers (and it would've done it from the bottom right)

Judging from the way it's holding the sword, the thumb should be barely visible under the other fingers.

i have a hard time doing normal hand references with my own hands because i'm double jointed in all of my fingers. they tend to bend back at strange angles and lock up uncomfortably if i try to keep them straight like a normal person
