guys i can't figure out how this anatomy is supposed to work

Second, head could a tad smaller, arms could be slightly longer, torso looks fine, I guess.

i can't figure out how to make it look like he's going to hug the one in front without his shoulders being all weird

Raise shoulder pads at an angle to make it look like his shoulders are raising them.

i tried a different approach. i drew the clonething like i would a normal person, then added the shoulderpads.

dex's coloring is more sketchy because i forgot to put it on a second layer

I tried tilting them a bit, but that just looked weird so I redrew them.

I can only draw with pencil, but I'm pretty good with perspective.
I don't know much about it, but I can use it pretty effectively.

Mostly hands and axis.

And I believe he has that expression because his feet is KILLING HIM.

I can't get the folds in the clothing right, so it looks nice to me.
