the shading looks better. still handicapped, but that's def better than most of your others
have you tried methods other than smudgy for it

I don't use any smudge/blur tools, I just happen to shade with the airbrush tool.

I don't really like the background-it doesn't really fit with the style of the Pokemon. Shedninja's halo is also a bit less defined. Ninjask is perfect though.
