How the hell do anime eyes work? I'm having trouble sketching Rin's eyes.

This is especially difficult when you're also absolutely stuff at getting more than three shades.

if you really wanted it to make sense, you'd make the pupil a shape, it doesn't blend in with the rest of the iris. that of course is an anime style thing so idk

i think i've posted this before



my eyes are of the goofy tall oval anime variety, but i do like to at least add in a pupil and some of muscle detail on the iris. that kind used in that Rin image looks like glass eyes to me and has always spooked me.
