The dust that comes off of it from toning the paper (and rubbing the charcoal) goes into your nose and under your nails. The former makes your snot black for a few days and the latter is hard to wash off until after a couple days

we did charcoal drawing in my schools lame art class last year
we didnt really do much at all other than get our hands covered in the stuff

some kid put the stuff on his face
