you shouldn't look at other people's drawing as references if you're studying anatomy: use actual models instead.

I could argue that they themselves have studied figures already, and that I can just use those.

But studying realism is much better as I am aware

There's always details that some artists leave out of their drawings that you might not, so I'm just saying that if you want it to be anatomically correct.
