Why do I even visit this thread if it's just anime research and original characters don't steal? If you can't tell I don't really like this thread very much.
I miss the old stuff too.
Pompmaker actually has some alright art, but I agree the anime research or lewds is kind of annoying for my own reasons. As for that I can't really complain about it.
If by "original art" you mean some of the lower quality works here, yeah, it can be somewhat upsetting to have come here and see this place as a flourishing thread but it's died down over the years. Content has slowed down and there's less of it, you and I have got to wait for those really nice pieces that pop up every once and awhile. In the mean time all we can do is encourage the people that aren't as skillful at art, even if they don't have a great interest in drawing.(I will hunt you down if you do not like art improvement. I will find you and make you draw. yes that means

Things have changed here, maybe it's just the school year and some members not being able to post, but we've got to just be patient with art here. Some users have come and gone, and the community isn't as big as it used to be.
I'll try to upload some drawings for you sometime squideey, just for you bby
