..Though, my dad seems to be anti headphones, he'll go to the electronics at a store, and while i watch him, he'll look at the headsets and get some earphones and claim they were out of headphones.

Headphones for when I'm at home/staying in one place or working on something that requires sound, perhaps watching a movie.

Earphones for when I'm travelling, because they're small and more or less reliable.

They both do what they were designed to do perfectly.
