Having a little trouble on what to do here. I either want to build my own gaming pc or just buy a pre-built one. My budget is around $600, I do want to build my own but i don't want to go through the headache of picking the right parts and OS. With a pre-built (like an hp desktop or somethin) its already put together with decent parts and windows 7. Any suggestions?

You're not going to get a gaming PC at $600, custom built or otherwise.

You can't get a gaming at $600. A gaming will cost you at-least $800.

Actually you can get a pretty good gaming build for 600$. but I'd advise a budget limit of around 700$, It gives some better wiggle room.

You can't get too great for $600. A good motherboard, processor, and average GPU, 4GB RAM, average case. A bit more. Mostly average stuff.

For $800, you can get a pretty good one. For $700, you can get a good run. You might want to expand your budget another $100 or $200 from $600. It helps and may cost more, but really pays off. Wait for Soviet to come. He can put together a good build for you.

Just Windows 7 by itself is $200-$300, so unless you already have another one sitting around, you're not getting much.

If you take college courses online, you can get Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit for $65. It's actually about $100 or $120 for Home Premium, which is all you really need.

when you say prebuilt, you are usually referring to like a best buy comp.

there is an option of "custom prebuilt" they usually dont cost any more then buying the parts manually yourself.

Mine cost around $800 to $900. And it's an epic build that won't be outdated for 2 or 3 years.
