Garrys mod help

Ok I need help on gmod.  I got the game about a month ago.  At first when I spawned I had all the weapons form HL2 in my inventory, but then one day I got on my server and the only things in my inventory is the physics gun, tool gun, and camera mode.  I have tried going to weapons tab in my items thing, and the only thing there is the manhack gun.  Can someone help me?

P.S.  Another gmod Q.. how and where to I put/get gmod add-ons?

For the no weapons part...

Go into the start a server options thing, and select spawn with weapons I think it is.

and for the addons

Extract them using winRAR to your steam/steamapps/(steamname)/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons folder. Simple as that.

For add-ons there is usually a readme in the .zip telling you where to put the files.

Actually not really. What I would recommend doing is opening the .zip and moving all of the innards (lua, sound, materials, models, and all the other stuff) into both your programfiles/steam/steamapps/(steamname)/garrysmod/garrysmod, and programfiles/steam/steamapps/(steamname)/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons, Putting in both locations will almost always allow them to work.
