But, does that mean they can host it really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like even as to claim it as their own?
Well, as part of Blockland they have the right to download builds from other servers as well as the right to host any builds they have in their possession. They also have the right to choose whatever name they so desire and the right to name their server whatever they desire. Furthermore, since the server is running off their own personal computer, they have the right to say and tell people what they want on their own hardware.

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.
You're an idiot for saying "they can do whatever they want". Sure they can, but it's like saying "It was Riddler's country, he can do whatever he want".

No need to insult. Considering they are hosting something on their computer, as in personal property, then yes, they can do what they want on their server. And yes, I've already stated that it was a richard thing to do, but this wasn't about whether you should or shouldn't, it was about whether he was in his right to do so or not.

Perhaps a better comparison would be killing someone in your house? In which case you aren't in the right to do so because you are breaking the law. You basically have to agree to abide by the rules of the law or suffer the consequences. Given that there are no rules against saving data from the someone else's server, he's still in the right.

In this case, these people are taking somebody else's work, regardless of what media was used, and claiming it as their own. This is plagiarism. Although, they are impersonating me. But under my name, he is doing abusive and stupid things, and is claiming the wrecked edition of Isar is real. So this is slander.

Now, I'm no legal expert obviously, but since my real name is associated with the IcyGamma nickname, is that in no sense identity fraud? They are claiming to be IcyGamma, so they are claiming to be the person behind the nickname.

If there was any legal issues involved here it would have been prevented by Badspot in the first place. Like I said. You are using software that has, as one of its intended uses, the ability to save data, in this case builds, from other peoples servers.

Also, plagiarism applies to literary works. The identity thing perhaps, but you can't prevent that.

We don't care about "legal" stuff.

It is still his build, and lcyGamma shouldn't go unpunished.

This whole ordeal seems a little blow out of proportion.

Welcome to BL.  People are going to save your build if they want - whether you like it or not.  Thankfully, Badspot doesn't seem to give two stuffs about nit-picking the game to death with rules that protect against build plagiarism.  It is plagiarism, but the entire community already knows that you built the original to begin with.  Yes, everyone has seen your gallery posting about Isar.  Don't worry, no one actually thinks Valid built it.  Not even he thinks that, seeing as how he admitted he was trolling you.

In the long run, you should be flattered.  Flattered that someone thought your build was good enough to save and pass off as their own.  Will banning one player really bring you retribution?  Probably not, seeing as how the save is now out there and floating around.  You really bring more negative attention to yourself by posting threads like these than Valid could do impersonating you.

Lastly, if you're so worried about your reputation among the forums, it probably isn't too wise to call the community stupid when hunting down Valid in a server.  Just sayin.

Well that's what I'm saying, if there was any legal issue it would have been addressed. I also agree that the guy that did the impersonating was an starfish and should be looked down upon by the community for what he did. However, he was still allowed to do it. :)

Welcome to BL.

Don't. We've all been playing longer than you, don't try to tell me what this community is.

In the long run, you should be flattered.

Oh, no no no. This whole "its flattering" cover up is such BS. I am not flattered. If people actually appreciated the Isar project, they would understand rehosting it ruins it.

Valid used the Isar Tower save to troll IcyGamma's fanboys.

Exactly. Also, there's no need to pursue one person, when other people have done the exact same thing without any punishment. That's just like the recent court issues, with the music industries suing against individuals for downloading music illegally, when there are PLENTY of other people out there who are downloading music at that very moment, with no harm done.

What I'm trying to say here is, there's no need to break your back over one person. He probably'll only get one or two visitors anyway. Think about it.

He got 8 visitors, all of whom believed him.

Titanium's been here for an EXTREMELY long time, while completing some extremely great buildings. He's probably been here longer than you, so shut your mouth over "seniority" stuff.

So, is it up now? What are you ganna do when you find this guy, drama him? Please. Find something better to do.
