put it back and do a few collision checks, then hack your way around it, check if at edge of platform, then check for platform above player, and write some hacky stuff that either limits the height you can get or removes jumping completely for extra hackyness.
I actually just found the issue with the teleporting.
Basically what happened was when I wrote the code for the player collision I only determined the player falling down and landing on the platform. If the player hits the platform underneath at a certain angle it causes a forget load of issues.
I fixed it by re-writing a tad bit of code and it seems to be working so far.
As for the player falling through the map I think it's just Game Maker being a douche.
