I have seen quite a bit of discussion regarding the Editor Wand, and I want to clear a few things up regarding my semi-support of it's inclusion into BLR:
1. The Wand, as I used it, was only to move a previously placed brick, or to angle a brick in a more gravity-friendly position. BLR cannot do this.
2. Warping bricks, as most used the Wand for in RTB, I do not support in the least. I frowned upon it, out loud.
3. Inclusion of my definition of the Wand, into retail, will make the frustrating issue of build-adjustment a much more user friendly experience, as well as adding more brick-building variables to enrich the construction experience.
You are correct, Badspot- we do not need brick stretching or floating bricks. I can live without them, in most cases. But building becomes extremely frustrating when one must plant a brick, and move it around, and then build up, and realize you started askew; You the have to utilize the hammer and destroy your entire work, rather than move it. Rotated pieces are a cornerstone of Expert brick design. Admittedly, some users get carried away, but without inclusion of brick-through-brick building, brick rotation set at any angle becomes more paint on the Builder's palette. We all know some bricks have a center mounted hole, as well- Take the 2x2 cone for example- How else would one get a brick on the top of that? Its clearly possible, but your stern disproval of the RTB concept of the Wand prevents you from seeing it's usefulness.
So Badspot or coders- Please add a tool for post-placement adjustment of brick position and non-orthogonal rotation. One must use a brick to it's highest degree to really use a brick.
