Computer Randomly Freezes

Whenever I leave my computer on, without any programs on for more than a few hours or so, W7 freezes so I can only move the mouse, but not interact with anything.
I can't start chrome, play minecraft. Nothing. So, I have to force shut-down my computer by holding the power button, which I know can be damaging to the computer. Would anyone happen to know why this happens?

I use it too often to do that. The longest I don't use it for is 2 or so hours.
Enough time for it to splotch up.

Try running a virus or malware scan.

Or you could delete any stuff you might not need.

What I do when the whole thing freezes, is go Ctrl+Alt+Del. End process explorer.exe, then start explorer.exe again.
Of course, that's on Vista though...
