Author Topic: When you need insparation, what do you do?  (Read 2145 times)

Well, you know when you have writer's block, builder's block, troller's block, or any other kind of lack of creativity, what do you do? I say this because many people do odd things to get inspiration.

Me? I strum on a foot-long American girl guitar until something comes to me.  Started once when I had writer's block and banged on a piano... Then the guitar was there when I broke my piano and it was just so much more entertaining.

i just sleep on it and the next day usually have a idea

HERE COMES INSPIRATON!

also music or reading other books.
usually what I'm interested in at the time.

I'm strumming Mai guitar right now ><

The guitar is off-key, too

I usually get ideas and inspiration right before I fall asleep. I'll be just about to pass out then an idea will come into my ahead just before the lights kick out.

Strange isn't it?

I usually walk it off, a good ol' walk around inside the house
or maybe spin around in my chair slowly
sometimes eating crunchy foods like carrots, celery, or popcorn help too

And if those don't work I listen to music, or look at artwork, or watch videos :]

Play bass. Listen to music loudly.

Specifically for mapping I'll look at pictures of the architectural style that I'm trying to accomplish.

I think on my last bit of inspiration. In trying to expand on it, I'll usually come up with some new ideas I can use.

Also, one big tip would be to remember that inspiration is everywhere. Whenever something hits you, big or small, try to remember it by writing it down or something. Many times you don't use exactly what you wrote down, but it is always helpful as a starting point.
